The Cowsheds are two single storey loadbearing straw bale holiday lodges we designed for Steve and Kirsty Rawson in beautiful Perthshire.
Originally housing livestock for the farm, the redundant sheds have been brought back into use as unique and comfortable holiday lodges. Having previously attended several straw bale build and lime plastering courses run by Straw Works, Steve and Kirsty self-built the properties in 2014.
Utilising their passion for sustainable building, construction materials were sourced locally and the kitchen in Cowshed 2 is made from recycled pallet wood. Both lodges make an excellent base from which to explore the Scottish hills. You can book a stay here.
